Leon Principal Billy Epting and Athletic Director Mark Feely announced hiring of Luke Kendall today as Leon High School’s new head boys Lacrosse Coach.
“Coach Kendall and I have spent this past week discussing the potential we have at Leon to be a great Lacrosse program. He has valuable experience and knowledge that will serve our team well. I feel he could be a dynamic leader that can coach our kids to compete and win at a high level. I’m very much looking forward to helping him do just that.”
Coach Kendall grew up playing the sport of lacrosse. In high school, he was a starting varsity attackman who held the record for most goals in a season his senior year while earning MVP and All-American honorable mention honors. After high school he attended Florida State and earned a degree in Biology. While at FSU he played club lacrosse for the Seminoles for two years. In those two years he helped lead the team to the national tournament in Utah and received the Under-Armor Commanding performance player of the week in his senior season.
He has worked with many programs which enables him to pass down what he has learned as a player and assistant coach to his own team. He hopes to create unity within the team, competitiveness, and bring excitement to the Lions Lacrosse program.
Luke Kendall graduated from Florida State and is a member of the Redfish coaching staff. Congrats Luke!
