What is your policy on playing time?
Players and Parents must understand that this is a competitive travel program and there will be a depth chart for playing time. Coaches will do their very best to give all players the opportunity to showcase their skills, but at certain times playing time will not be equal.
What are the parents like? What is the culture of the program?
We work hard with our parents, coaches and administrators to foster sense of community and a family atmosphere with each team in our program. Whether that be through team meals, BBQs and post game tailgates, or a team community service project – we work to create a warm and welcoming environment for all involved.
How do we know what hotels to stay in?
We set-up hotel rooming blocks that will made available on our team pages for events that require an overnight stay.

How do we get gear?
We set-up online stores twice a year (early Fall and Spring), so families can order gear at the start of each season. Team store links are sent out to families after tryouts and registration.
How often do you practice?
We typically have 10-12 practices in the lead-up to the summer season. (2 per week beginning in April)
Does playing in a Sweetlax Regional Program help our son make the Sweetlax Elite Team?
There are some benefits and synergies that naturally exist between the SRPs and the statewide Sweetlax Florida team (Terminology, some offensive and defensive philosophies etc), however the Sweetlax statewide tryouts are extremely competitive and we do not want parents to be misled into thinking that their son has a special advantage over other boys at those tryouts.
Are there any other Sweetlax parent policies?
- Parents will let the program director and their son’s coach know in advance if their player has any conflicts with a team event.
- Parents will be supportive and good role models of sportsmanship and teamwork at all times.
- Parents will respect coaches, players, opponents, other parents, and refs at all times.
- During game play parents will cheer from the opposing sideline and will not coach any player(s).
